Participants 2025

Before you know it, the year will be over. That’s why it’s right about time to put the participants of the 2025 activities in the spotlight once again. Composers deserve their stage too! Our partners agree, who generously contributed to our matchmaking sessions, among other things. Our 2025 partners were none other than ESNS, MCM, QISSA (formerly Generation Inclusion), NFF Script & Score, World Soundtrack Awards, Filmfestival Gent, IDFA, ADE, FilmForward, Stichting Vrouwen in Beeld and Oorzaken Festival. Those composers who seized their opportunity last year? We’ve listed them below for you.

Participants BMIM x MCM: Third Character 2025

For the BMIM x MCM: Third Character 2025 matchmaking session in France, composers were invited to meet with duos of producers and directors working on a film project in development. During the international Music & Cinema Marseille (MCM) festival, the composers built a network and found common creative ground. Potential collaborations could apply for financial support from copyright organizations Sabam, Sacem, and Buma Music in Motion (BMIM).

Participants BMIM x QISSA Lab 2025 Participants

During the BMIM x QISSA Lab 2025 matchmaking session, participants who want to contribute to an inclusive film and television world could engage in conversations with underrepresented groups and composers. They discussed upcoming projects, the creative process, and the important role of music in film and television.

Participants NFF Script & Score 2025

This year, we are once again collaborating with the Netherlands Film Festival (NFF) to connect filmmakers and the music industry. The private Script & Score program introduces composers and filmmakers to each other’s work. Composers presented themselves to filmmakers during the NFF Script & Score 2025 matchmaking session. These five composers, listed below, were selected to participate.

Participants WSA FILM Music Days: The Third Character (Ghent Film Festival)

This time, composers were paired with directors and producers in development during a matchmaking session in Belgium, WSA Film Music Days: The Third Character. This time, too, the focus was on Third Character, an initiative that refers to Fellini’s vision of film music as the “third character” of a film. The composers listed below travelled to Ghent to meet with directors and producers, hopefully for a creative connection and potential collaboration.

Participants BMIM x IDFAcademy 2025

Six composers had the opportunity to meet six filmmakers from IDFA Project Space NL during the BMIM x IDFAcademy 2025 matchmaking session. They were able to expand their network in the world of documentary film. Thanks to IDFAcademy, aspiring filmmakers can connect with documentary professionals.

Participants BMIM x IDFA Producers Connection 2025

The five composers listed below were able to participate in IDFA’s dedicated professional program, BMIM x Producers Connection 2025, thanks to their submissions to the open call. Participants BMIM x Oorzaken Festival: Speed Dates

We concluded the year on a high note on December 12, 2025, at De Brakke Grond. Five composers had the opportunity to speed date with podcasters, editors, and creative producers during the BMIM x Oorzaken Festival: Speed Dates. The Oorzaken Festival is the festival for narrative audio, where literature, theater, journalism, and music come together to bring stories to life in surprising ways.
