Elena Pisano is an Italian pianist and composer based in Amsterdam. Her music is shaped by a deep curiosity towards a wide range of styles. From jazz to classical music, hip hop and contemporary electronic music.
At the age of six, she started playing piano, first studying classical music and then exploring other styles and approaching improvisation. In 2016 she moved to the Netherlands, where she graduated in both Jazz Piano and Composing for film at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
She is active as a film composer and she performs with a variety of groups based in the Netherlands.
Elena’s music is a reflection of her musical explorations, where she fearlessly experiments with different tonalities, rhythms, and textures. Her compositions often provide a bridge between the familiar and the experimental, inviting listeners to experience new sonic landscapes while still finding elements that resonate with their musical sensibilities.
In 2024, Elena was nominated for the Music in Media Awards in the category New Talent with the score for the short film Daar moet nog wat mee.
