Celebrating the best music in media
From film to documentary, podcast to advertising, the MIMAs spotlight music’s role across all media. These prestigious awards are presented by Buma Music in Motion for the tenth time. It’s an unmissable event honoring top talents in music for media, complete with well-deserved recognition and plenty of champagne.

Sounds good, but what’s in it for me?
The Music in Media Awards are all about celebrating the best music in films, games, podcasts, radio, documentaries, theatre, advertising and television. A panel of experienced and professional judges from across the audio and visual industries will select the winners. If you’re a composer or musician, then this is your chance to stand out and show your craft!
This years’ categories
This year, the judges will choose one winner in each of the following MIMAs categories:

Film
Awarded to a Dutch composer who has composed the original music for a feature film, animated film or telefilm that premiered or was first shown to the public in the previous year.

Short Film
Awarded to a Dutch composer who has composed the original music for a short film or short animated film that premiered or was first shown to the public in the previous year.

Documentary
Awarded to a Dutch composer who has composed the original music for a documentary or documentary series that has premiered or was first shown to the public in the previous year.

Series
Awarded to a Dutch composer who has composed the original music for a series that premiered or was shown to the public for the first time in the past year.

Advertising
Awarded to a Dutch composer who composed the original music for an advertising campaign that premiered or had its first public screening in the previous year. This category now also includes film, TV, or game trailers and promos.

Sync Advertising
Awarded to a Dutch composer involved in the best existing song used in an advertising campaign that premiered or had its first public screening in the previous year. This category now also includes film, TV, or game trailers and promos.

Song
Awarded to a Dutch composer who composed the original music for a (title) song in a film, series, documentary, game, or podcast that premiered or had its first public screening in the previous year.

Sync
Awarded to a Dutch composer involved in the best existing song used in a selected scene from a feature film, documentary, series, or game that premiered or had its first public screening in the previous year.

Podcast
Awarded to a Dutch composer who has composed the original music for a podcast that has premiered or had its first public screening in the previous year.

Imaging
Awarded to a Dutch composer or audio designer who has composed the channel design, identity or programme branding for a television and/or radio channel or programme that had its premiere or first public screening in the previous year.

Experience
Awarded to a Dutch composer who has composed original music for theatre, museums, VR, Metaverse, etc. that has had its premiere or first public screening in the previous year.

New Talent
Awarded to a Dutch composer for the most promising en new coming (music) composer of the previous year.
