Odysseas Papathanasiou Terzis is an awarded composer born in 1991 in Athens, Greece. His journey started from Greece, by studying classical piano since the age of 6 and electric guitar since he was 15. Later on, he continued his studies in Classical Music and Composition in the Conservatory of Athens, the HKU Utrechts Conservatorium in the Netherlands and ‘Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg’ in Germany as an Erasmus+ exchange student. He is currently at the Eastman School of Music for his Master’s in film Composition in the University of Rochester with Prof. Mark Watters.
During his studies he participated in many masterclasses and film scoring workshops in all over the world, such as ‘NGC lab’ with Harry Gregson-Williams, ‘HFF Film Scoring Workshop’ with Yati Durant, ‘Netherlands’ Silent Film Festival’ with Daan van den Hurk, ‘Paxos’ International Film Scoring Workshop’ with Michalis Palaiologou among others. Winner of the Apollo Global Music Awards 2024, First Prize Winner of the ‘Bachdag Amersfoort Composition Competition 2022, Second Prize Winner of the ‘Four For Music’ Scoring Contest 2022, finalist of the InterContinental Music Awards 2024, Apullia Soundtrack Awards 2023, the 2023 Oticons Faculty International Film Competition, the ‘NGC Composition Competition’ with Harry Gregson-Williams (2021) as head of the jury and ‘Call for Scores’ of the ‘Film Scoring Academy of Europe’ (2022).
He has received multiple commissions and had collaborated with many different artists, choreographers, theatre groups, collectives and companies such as ‘Imitating the Dog’, ‘STEP’, ‘NOBS Films’ and more.
