The MIMA’s is our annual award show to celebrate the best music in the world of media. You can register your finest work for 12 different categories: film, games, theatre, podcasts, radio, documentaries, television and others. Preparation is everything when it comes to crafting an outstanding MIMA application. Keep reading for tips to help ensure your submission is complete and compelling.
Tips and tricks
After nine years of organizing the MIMAs, we’ve learned a few things, and we’re here to share our insights with you. Take time to refine, revisit, and focus on the details — these steps can make all the difference!
- Submitting your work is quite a task. Don’t underestimate it. Make sure to take your time, set your phone to aeroplane mode and focus!
- While you are at it: check, check and double-check. We’ve seen too many times that people skip or forget some fields.
- Tell your supporters, coworkers, producers, writers, and whoever worked with you, that you are submitting your work.
- And don’t be shy! We know music can speak for itself, but the jury is also interested in you! Tell your creative process, and take us along on your journey!
- That also includes a short deadline, maybe a little to no budget, and a big or a small team. Don’t let out these details, they give your story extra power!
- Your application needs to be as personal as it gets. Feel free to share your unique preferences and let your very own style shine through.
And the best tip of all? Don’t hesitate to contact BMIM team. We would love to help you with your submission to MIMA’s 2025!
Why MIMA’s is an opportunity for your career
Did you know that submitting your work to the MIMA’s is completely free? Unlike many other award shows, MIMA’s is the only one of its kind in the Netherlands!
As a MIMA’s nominee, you’ll gain recognition for your work and get visibility by a name mention on our website, social media channels, our newsletter and press releases. This is your chance to showcase your best work to important industry players!
If you win in your category, you’ll receive your award on stage during the MIMA’s award show — a fantastic opportunity to celebrate with like-minded professionals from across the industry. Check out the MIMA’s 2024 aftermovie to see what is coming in 2025!
During this evening, you can also reinforce your relationship with the people you worked with, like the producers, the directors, the writers, you name it. You can even attract new business!
And did we mention? You can proudly add the nomination (or, who knows, the award!) to your bio and resume. Who wouldn’t want that?
