This year, we are continuing our collaboration with IDFA. In addition to the IDFAcademy, where we nominate talented composers, mid-career composers will have the opportunity to connect with international documentary filmmakers through the exclusive professionals’ program Producers Connection. The program consists of presentations and carefully curated one-on-one meetings, aimed at supporting productions seeking funding through international co-production and introducing them to composers. Five spots are available for composers in mid- or later stages of their careers.
About IDFA and Producers Connection
As one of the world’s leading documentary institutions, IDFA works to strengthen and innovate the international documentary field. The IDFA Forum is a key meeting point: filmmakers, producers, new media creators, and other professionals come together to advance groundbreaking creative documentaries and XR projects. Producers Connection is one component of this forum and focuses specifically on encouraging co-productions, collaboration, and creative growth.
We’re looking for:
- Five mid- or senior-level composers (minimum four credits to your name or at least three years of experience composing for film)

What can you expect?
- An opportunity to meet the IDFA Producers Connection participants (and other projects) in one-on-one meetings and during networking lunches and drinks.
- The projects are still in the research phase or early stages of development. Please be open-minded and attend these meetings to discuss the creative process and inspire each other. • BMIM and IDFA facilitate the meetings, but there are no guarantees of collaboration. Consider this an opportunity to expand your network.
- You will receive IDFA accreditation, which gives you access to the Producer Connection, IDFA Forum networking events, and film screenings. These include:
