Theme Two is an award-winning composer duo formed by Xiangming Niu and Jamie Alpherts, based in Amsterdam. They started collaborating in 2024, and have since been composing, producing, and arranging music for films and theatres together. Most recently, their work was awarded with an Honorable Mention for the European Talent Award at SoundTrack Cologne 2025.
In film, their recent projects have been selected for the IDFA, Warsaw International Film Festival, Netherlands Film Festival, Cinekid Festival, among others. Their films appear in commercial and international cinemas, on national television broadcasts, and on streaming services such as MUBI, Prime Video, and NPO Start.
Master graduates of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Xiangming and Jamie bring a shared foundation in classical composition and a wide-ranging curiosity for modern music and production. Drawing on a large variety of musical genres, their works bring an eclectic and authentic approach to contemporary media.
