Sonya Vos (she/her) makes music that breathes, flows, and pulls you into an experience. From her studio she collaborates with various creators, but she feels most at home in the field itself, where she can respond directly to what’s happening.
As a bass player, she performs with artists such as The Silverfaces, Eva van Manen, and Robin Berlijn, and has played on stages including Lowlands and Eurosonic Noorderslag. Her playing is defined by a strong focus on the musical whole. Sonya plays what the music calls for, actively seeks musical dialogue with her fellow musicians, and has no patience for unnecessary fuss.
She also composes music for games, theatre, and other forms of storytelling. Together with her colleagues at Roost Games, she won a Dutch Game Award in 2022 for the game Cat Café Manager. Sonya looks for ways to strengthen a narrative through sound and is always curious about new ways to make audio speak within a project.
