Shakuru Tajiri is a Dutch, Japanese-American composer and music supervisor based in Amsterdam. As a teen, he delved into producing electronic music, teaching himself to play various instruments through YouTube. His passion for music led to early success, with the release of his first label EP at the age of 18. After earning a BA in Music Management, Tajiri honed his musical skills at Amp.Amsterdam, where he supervised music for international brands such as Adidas, Audi, Samsung and Netflix. Presently, Tajiri thrives as a freelance composer, music supervisor, and sonic branding specialist. His diverse portfolio showcases scores for award-winning films and sonic identities for an array of prominent brands. He has also shared his expertise by giving lectures on film scoring at UWM (Milwaukee) and Temple University (Philadelphia). Beyond music, Tajiri’s artistic reach extends to visual art and creative writing.
