Ruud Hermans is a composer and sound designer based in Dalerveen (Netherlands), near Emmen. Coming from the rock scene as a guitarist and composer, Ruud has played in many bands, performing ‘live’ throughout the Netherlands. He worked as a composer on a ‘user generated’ film in the Entertainment Experience set up by Paul Verhoeven. This turned out to be love at first sight and from that moment on he continued to make music for feature films, short films, corporate films and documentaries. Telling the story of a film through its music is what Ruud stands for. Communication and commitment are key, and so he is a proponent of getting involved in a new project early on to connect with the director and the film to get the best possible music and sound design for the project.
