Dutch composer Roy Bemelmans is an alumnus of the UCLA Film Scoring Program, ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop and Berlinale Talent Campus, and has worked as an assistant to composer Andrea Morricone (son of Ennio Morricone). But despite his thorough education in the field of film music, Bemelmans composes music by instinct, and considers himself an autonomous composer first. His award-winning work has a subtle, honest quality that seems to lend itself perfectly to supporting stories.
