Ilan started playing the cello at the age of five, and the piano followed three years later. As he grew older, his talent felt more and more like a calling and as he started studying classical composition at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. In recent years, Ilan has successfully focused on writing theatre and film music. The music for theatre piece De Heks van Almen reached number 76 in Radio4’s Top 400, and he was nominated for a Rome Prisma Award for his music in the documentary Bloody Tradition. In addition to film and theatre, Ilan worked on the audio branding of Coolblue and the lead intros for NPO 3.
