Would the global success of The Last of Us have been the same without its haunting score by Gustavo Santaolalla and the 1987 Depeche Mode classic ’Never Let Me Down Again’? Or think about how Wednesday skyrocketed The Cramps’ ‘Goo Goo Muck’ to cult status decades after its release. And we’re already looking forward to the third season of The White Lotus, set to take place in Thailand—its soundtrack is sure to be as captivating and atmospheric as ever, maybe drawing inspiration from its exotic new setting. Music has the power to define moments in storytelling, and advertising is no exception, because who doesn’t instantly associate a familiar tune with a brand, like Apple’s use of Harry Styles’ ‘Music for a Sushi Restaurant’ or Coca-Cola’s unforgettable anthems?
Music supervisors, often called the ‘wonder wizards of sound’, have a unique talent for creating unforgettable atmospheres by matching the perfect track with visuals. Whether it’s a trailer, a TV series, a film, or an advertisement, their expertise ensures the music not only complements but elevates the story. Similarly, sync reps play a crucial role in placing existing music where it can shine the brightest. These specialists have turned synchronization into a cornerstone of the modern music industry.
Would you like to connect with one of these music experts to discover how to get your music featured in high-profile projects? For the fourth consecutive year, we’re bringing back Meet the Music Supervisors & Sync Reps: One-on-One Sessions at ESNS. A dream team of international music supervisors and sync reps will be available to share insights, give feedback, and open doors to the world of sync opportunities.
