Editor Michelle Tesoro, known for On the Basis of Sex, Maestro, and The Queen’s Gambit (in collaboration with composer Carlos Rafael Rivera), is coming to Utrecht for an extensive masterclass. Using excerpts from her work, Michelle will talk to Job ter Burg about her approach to the material, the refined art of building tension, and shaping storylines in both series and films, as well as the creative inspiration that arises from collaboration across departments.
Composer Carlos Rafael Rivera, Tesoro’s longtime partner on Scott Frank’s series, will join the conversation to demonstrate how their unique interplay between editing and music takes shape. Together, they will reveal how image and sound constantly influence each other, evolving into powerful storytelling in their own right – from the subtlest emotional nuances to grand cinematic moments. Admission is with an NFF Professionals Pass, but we have 10 free tickets to give away. Sign up before 22 September and you’ll hear on the 23rd if you’ve been selected.
You can no longer sign up for a free ticket. The deadline was September 22nd. You can attend this masterclass with an NFF Professionals Pass.
