He began his career at Loyens & Loeff and has held in-house legal roles at Warner Bros. Netherlands and EndemolShine Group. From 2020 to 2025, he co-founded and led Clear Music as managing director. Mattijs is affiliated as legal counsel with Beroepsvereniging Componisten Multimedia (BCMM).
