Anna Lesterhuis (1995) is a composer, songwriter, cellist and vocalist. Inspired by the world around her – nature, human connections, art, life-changing events and quiet moments of doubt – she composes intuitively, creating music that captures the essence of a story. Her classical background in cello and singing forms the basis of her work, as she continuously explores new soundscapes.
In 2023, Anna made her debut as a film composer with Body’s Blindness and is currently working with ABBOTT on the Ultrakort selection film Wad Is, Is Nu. Her musical style continues to develop and is influenced by composers such as Alexandre Desplat, Thomas Newman and Max Richter.
In addition to film music, Anna writes Dutch pop songs that are melancholic and sincere, with a playful and dreamy undertone. She is currently working on her EP Dwaalgast, a personal project about searching, getting lost and unexpectedly finding a home.
