André Schoorlemmer is a self-taught music composer whose work is infused with escapism, dreaminess, and melancholy. His compositions feature strong, simple melodies that subtly yet directly evoke emotion. He began his musical career as a performing musician, playing in various bands across genres like pop, rock, and world music, and was also active in theater.
In 2017, André shifted his focus to composing and producing, setting up his own studio in a former prison in the heart of Utrecht. He is currently dedicated to creating music for films and documentaries, with occasional ventures into theater.
His scores have premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and his work has received several awards.
