For months, we lived for this moment. The Music in Media Awards 2026. An evening-long awards show full of fun. But that’s not all. We have also once again honored music in the media. It’s important because Dutch creators are gaining increasing recognition. Nationally and internationally. The awards ceremony tonight at LIEF Amsterdam confirmed this recognition. For each category, this year’s expert jury chose a winner. The oeuvre prize also did not go unwon. Vincent van Warmerdam had the honor to receive it.
Lifetime Achievement Award for Vincent van Warmerdam
We kick off this event report with none other than Vincent van Warmerdam. He was awarded the lifetime achievement award in honor of his impressive and versatile contribution to the Dutch film and music world.
With his quirky and recognizable style, Vincent van Warmerdam has enriched countless films and productions over the years. His music adds atmosphere and character and truly touches the heart. His compositions are warm, layered, and full of character and have meant a lot to creators and audiences over the years. We are proud to honor him with the Oeuvre Award Music in Media.

The chosen MIMA winners
Out of all the submissions, three nominees were chosen for twelve categories. Next, it was the task of the expert jury, this year consisting of Belle Doron, Dymme Plomp, Bob Zimmerman, and Josephine Zwaan, among others, to choose a winner for each category. For various reasons, composers, directors, creators, and other professionals from the industry were rewarded for their work.
These are this year’s chosen composers: Christiaan Verbeek, Vernon Chatlein, Jean-Jacques Rojer, Beau Zwart, Lieuwe Roonder, Eva Crutzen, Guido Maat, Vincent van den Ende, Eefje de Visser, Timo Romme, Friso Venema, Jac van Exter, Merlijn Snitker, Sebastiaan Bax and Xiangming Niu.
A successful evening
We are already looking back on a successful Music in Media Awards. But next year, we will also strive for the best of the best when it comes to honoring music in the media.
