In 2024 we once again committed ourselves to giving composers the platform they deserve. So that the right people continue to find each other. We made this happen, together with our various partners, by organizing matchmaking sessions. This way we contributed to connection in the media landscape. A shoutout to our great partners in 2024: NFF Script & Score, The Third Character, Dekmantel, Cannes Lions, Go Short, Generation Inclusion, ESNS and MXT. Meet the composers who seized the opportunities with both hands during past matchmaking sessions in 2024.

Participants BMIM x ESNS Sync Writing Camp

For the fourth time, ESNS and BMIM organised the Buma Music in Motion Sync Writing Camp sessions during ESNS. Six composers had the chance to work on inspiring real briefs from national and international advertising agencies. And, the results were discussed in a panel at the ESNS Conference!

Participants BMIM x Generation Inclusion 2024

In the first quarter of 2024, we made an immediate impact with the matchmaking session BMIM x Generation Inclusion 2024. We collaborated again with Generation Inclusion to create a more inclusive media landscape. These composers were also happy to contribute.

Participants BMIM x Go Short 2024

Go Short is the international short film festival in Nijmegen. During this matchmaking session BMIM x Go Short 2024, composers passionate about short films could meet short film directors. This was the opportunity to expand your knowledge in the world of short films, meet like-minded people and directors to pitch your idea.

Participants NFF Script & Score 2024

During this NFF Script & Score 2024 matchmaking session composers were asked to write music based on screenplays in development and present themselves and their work to filmmakers. The session took place during NFF, The Netherlands Film Festival, the place to be for professionals, as its the most important full-scale platform for independent, art-house, content-driven exchange and innovation.

Participants BMIM x IDFAcademy 2024

During this BMIM x IDFAcademy 2024 matchmaking session composers had the opportunity to meet a broad spectrum of highly esteemed documentary professionals willing to share their knowledge of the industry. Six emerging composers, at the start of their career meet six selected film makers of IDFA Project Space NL.

At the IDFA Producers Connection during IDFA national and international film/documentary professionals came together to network and explore opportunities to finance their films. Via an open call, we offered five spots to media composers to be a part of this networking program.

Participants BMIM x WSA FILM Music Days: The Third Character

With our partner The Third Character, we set up this matchmaking session during WSA Film Music Days in Ghent. As a composer, you could meet duos of producers and directors who were working on a film project. In other words, the opportunity for composers, directors and producers alike to build a network and to find common creative ground. And the best part? Collaborations born out of these meetings had the opportunity to apply for financial support for the score through authors’ rights organisations Sabam, Sacem and Buma Music in Motion (BMIM) (only for member composers).
