Buma Music in Motion creates a connection in the landscape of media music. The goal is that the right people find and strengthen each other. Our open calls and matchmaking sessions are some of the tools we use to put composers in the spotlight. View the participating composers of 2023 here. Participants BMIM x ESNS Sync Writing Camp 2023
We kick off the list with ESNS Sync Writing Camp 2023. It was time for these participating composers to demonstrate their commercial skills by working on a briefing from an (international) advertising agency or a brand.
Participants BMIM x Go Short
In April 2023 we were present at Go Short, the international Short Film Festival in Nijmegen. During the anniversary edition, musical talents could register for matchmaking sessions during the festival with an established director of short films.
Participants BMIM x Oorzaken
With partner Oorzaken Festival we organized a matchmaking session for musical talent in the podcast world for the first time during BMIM x Oorzaken at the Oorzaken festival. The Oorzaken Festival is from Oorzaken, a platform for creative audio stories for both makers and listeners. These were the participants.

Participants NFF Holland Film Meeting 2023 x REwriteIT
National and international film professionals came together to network during NFF Holland Film Meeting 2023 x REwriteIT. Four composers participated in the network program and met the products of the Holland Film Meeting and CineSud REwriteIT residency. They could also delve into selected film projects. Participants BMIM x NFF Script & Score
Buma Music in Motion and the Nederlands Film Festival (NFF) are jointly committed to creating more and deeper connections between young filmmakers and the music sector. They did this, among other things, with NFF Script & Score. The core idea of this program was that young filmmakers and composers get to know each other and their work.

Imagine is the largest film festival in the Netherlands for fantasy, horror and science fiction. Everything there revolves around imagination. During the second year of BMIM x Imagine Film Festival, these composers were selected for the matchmaking sessions to meet production makers during a meet and greet.

IDFAcademy gave emerging filmmakers the opportunity to meet a broad spectrum of highly regarded documentary professionals willing to share their knowledge of the industry. These composers participated in this BMIM x IDFAcademy matchmaking session.

Together with IDFA, we offered five composers the opportunity to participate in the Producers Connection program with presentations and curated one-on-one meetings.

During the matchmaking session BMIM x Generation Inclusion, the participants told their stories about how colourful the Dutch film and television world is. They signed up for this matchmaking session because they believe in inclusivity and want to contribute to it.

The Netherlands was the focus country of Les Arcs Film Festival in 2023, which strengthened the collaboration for the open call BMIM x Les Arcs Film Festival. It was the way for the composers below to broaden their international network in film.
