“My name is Sebastiaan Bax and I compose music for film and theatre. I strive to create music with rich emotional scope and nuance. I like to work with a director early on to define what function the music can have within the whole; what is not yet visible that music can make audible. And what can accentuate the score to give depth to the film’s story. I compose with a wide range of acoustic instruments and collaborate with other musicians early in my process. This way I quickly create musical sketches with an original sound world that can be experimented with. Live musicians always have imperfections, which gives liveliness to my music. In 2023 I won the Buma New Talent Award.”
