Pieter Perquin has been active as a composer and producer under the name Perquisite since he was fourteen. He became known with the hip-hop duo Pete Philly & Perquisite with whom he toured all over the world, released two succesfull albums and won several awards. In 2009, Perquisite started working on his first film score, the music for ‘Carmen van het Noorden’, for which he received a Gouden Kalf (Dutch Oscar). Since then, he has composed the music for several feature films and series. Besides this, he formed a duo with Kris Berry and since 2015, works together with Jeangu Macrooy as his music producer and manager. Since 2022 he also works with upcoming Alternative R&B singer and songwriter Swan. In addition, Perquisite runs his own record label Unexpected Records since 2001 and is one of the founders of BAM!, the Dutch songwriters society. At the end of 2023, Pete Philly & Perquisite gave a big reunion concert at the AFAS Live in Amsterdam. Their official third studio album was released on May 3rd 2024, after which a European Tour took place. Music composed and produced by Perquisite has been streamed over 93 million times on Spotify.
