BMIM Awards 2018

BMIM launched in 2018 once again its annual search for the best new talent in the country. And, for the first time, BMIM presented new Buma Award categories at the BMIM Trade Dinner on May 22nd.

Celebrating the best music in films, games, podcasts, radio, documentaries, advertising and television

The Buma Music in Media Awards are the awards for composers and producers who have proven themselves in the previous year with their compositions for or use of music in media. The music composers and producers nominated in 4 categories have been assessed by the expert jury of 14 members.

Hans Nieuwenhuijsen

Composer

Hans Nieuwenhuijsen won in 2018 the Buma Music in Motion New Talent Award. “Catastrophe is a composition rich in contrast that underlines and directs the development of the film. Humor is timing and this genre stands or falls with that. The Amsterdam barrel organ is a funny touch, and the production is fine.”

This year the jury consisted of, among others, Bob Zimmerman, Cathelijne Beijn, Janice Pierre, Jeroen Rietbergen, Jon Karthaus, Joost van ‘t Hoff and Kaja Wolffers.
